Northern Cyprus PM Üstel: 40,000 TL payments to be made before 15 November

Prime Minister and National Unity Party (UBP) leader Ünal Üstel said in a televised interview that 40,000 TL payments would be made before 15 November, the anniversary of the TRNC’s founding, and 13th-month salaries before 20 December. He said the necessary financial preparations had been completed and asked citizens not to worry about payments.

On the UBP’s candidate selection process, Üstel said about 9,000 members took part in the vote and that reactions to the results were natural. He said there was no split in the party and that UBP would finish first in the 6 December elections. He also rejected claims of political discrimination in the distribution of rural land plots.
