Northern Cyprus PM Üstel meets UN envoy Holguin on Cyprus talks

Prime Minister and National Unity Party (UBP) leader Ünal Üstel received Maria Angela Holguin Cuellar, the UN Secretary-General's personal representative on Cyprus, at the UBP headquarters.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Üstel said he had told Holguin that a realistic, sustainable and lasting settlement on the island passes through acceptance of the sovereign equality of the two states and two peoples on the island. He said he had invited the UN and the international community to now see the realities on the island.

Üstel was accompanied in the meeting by Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, Labour and Social Security Minister Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu and UBP Secretary General Ahmet Savaşan.
