Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijanis united like a fist during 44-day Patriotic War

President Ilham Aliyev said the Azerbaijani people united like a fist during the 44-day Patriotic War. According to Report.az, he made the remarks on November 6 while meeting residents who had moved to Jahangirbeyli village in Zangilan district and Soltanli village in Jabrayil district.

Aliyev said justice had been restored and that the nation had regained its dignity and rights through bloodshed on the battlefield. He said the Victory would live forever in the hearts of the people and future generations. He prayed for mercy for the martyrs and said their blood had not been shed in vain and that their revenge had been taken on the battlefield.

Aliyev described the revival of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur as the greatest sign of respect for the memory of the martyrs.
