A robotic dairy farm operated by TOO Enbek has started work in Akkol district of Kazakhstan's Akmola region. The regional akimat's press service said it is the first complex in Kazakhstan with this level of robotisation. Robotic systems handle milking, while specialised equipment takes care of feeding and maintaining the animals' living conditions.

The total project cost is 8.1 billion tenge. Of this, 3.1 billion tenge was allocated with the participation of JSC SPK Kokshe, and 5 billion tenge comes from the farm's own funds. The project is part of a livestock development cluster programme initiated by the President and receives state financial support. More than 770 head of cattle have been brought to the farm, including 300 Holstein black-and-white cows from Denmark. Once at full capacity, the complex can house 900 dairy cows and is expected to yield 4,230 tonnes of milk a year.

The farm uses 12 milking robots from German manufacturer GEA Westfalia, with equipment costing 1.9 billion tenge. Farm head Kuanysh Rakishev said the goal is up to 8,500 litres of milk per cow annually. Milk is already supplied to TOO Gormolzavod. Akmola regional akim Marat Akhmetzhanov said two more large dairy farms are planned by year-end, in Atbasar district for 760 head and in Burabay district for 1,400 head, with a milk processing plant to be launched at the latter.
