Japarov says he was offered a coup plot in Kazakhstan

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has said that Kazakh oligarch Mukhtar Ablyazov proposed in 2020 that he organise a coup in Kazakhstan. Modern.az reports that Japarov made the remarks in an interview with the Super.kg outlet.

According to Japarov, a telephone conversation with Ablyazov took place in 2020. He said Ablyazov praised the Kyrgyz people's third revolution and asked for his help, saying he would come to Bishkek to organise a revolution in Kazakhstan.

Japarov said he replied that he does not interfere in the policies of neighbouring countries and would not damage relations with Kazakhstan.
