President Zhaparov receives Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Gafarova

Bishkek, October 20, 2026 (Kabar). President Sadyr Zhaparov received Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan on an official visit.

The two sides discussed prospects for expanding Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani cooperation in trade and economy, investment, energy and transport. Zhaparov stressed the special nature of the allied relations between the two countries and the importance of consistently implementing agreements reached, including the Treaty on Allied Relations signed during Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's state visit to Kyrgyzstan in July.

Gafarova conveyed greetings and best wishes from Ilham Aliyev to Zhaparov and the people of Kyrgyzstan. She noted the dynamic development of bilateral relations, including inter-parliamentary cooperation, and underscored the importance of further strengthening the partnership between the two countries.
