Öztürkler holds high-level talks in Kyrgyzstan

Ziya Öztürkler, Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), was received by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov in Bishkek as part of the 15th General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TÜRKPA). The reception at the Palace of Unity was also attended by Turkish Grand National Assembly Speaker Prof. Dr. Numan Kurtulmuş, Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Speaker Sahiba Gafarova, Kazakh Kurultai Speaker Aybek Dadebay, Kyrgyz Parliament Speaker Marlen Mamataliev and Uzbek Senate Speaker Tanzila Narbayeva.

During the reception, Öztürkler conveyed greetings from the Turkish Cypriot people and members of the Assembly of the Republic to Japarov. He later met Mamataliev, where the two sides agreed to advance relations between their parliaments and expressed a wish to increase mutual visits.

Öztürkler invited his counterpart to the TRNC, saying the hosts would be greatly honoured to welcome him as a guest. Having completed his engagements in Kyrgyzstan during the TÜRKPA General Assembly, Öztürkler returned to the TRNC this morning.
