Turkmenistan to host V International theatre festival in Ashgabat and Arkadag

Ashgabat and the «smart» city of Arkadag will become centres of international theatre life this November. At a Cabinet of Ministers meeting, Deputy Prime Minister B. Seyidova reported on preparations for the V International theatre festival «Theatre art of the happy epoch». Leading theatre companies from around the world will travel to Turkmenistan to take part in the creative forum.

The programme will not be limited to stage performances. A working meeting of theatre directors and stage managers is planned, where participants will discuss improving theatrical arts, exchanging experiences and expanding international humanitarian cooperation.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that the state pays special attention to developing national performing arts and strengthening cultural ties with foreign partners. He instructed the deputy prime minister to ensure a high level of organisation and content for the upcoming festival.
