Bulgaria and Turkey to build new Kapitan Andreevo – Kapıkule North border crossing

Under an agreement signed between Bulgaria and Turkey and approved by the government, a new border crossing called Kapitan Andreevo – Kapıkule North will be built.

According to the agreement, the two states will set up the crossing north of the current checkpoint, in the Svilengrad Municipality in Bulgaria and in Turkey's Edirne Province.

A joint commission will be formed to determine the main features of road connections, the locations of routes and their intersection points with the border, technical parameters, operating regime, infrastructure, cargo and passenger types, and all other related issues.
