Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov launched construction of three major facilities during a working trip to Dashoguz region: two industrial plants and the Ashgabat–Dashoguz highway. He also blessed, via live video link, the opening of a road in Balkan region.

Participants watched by video link as the 44-kilometre Garabogaz–Kazakhstan border section of the international Turkmenbashi–Garabogaz–Kazakhstan route was commissioned. The road is 27.5 metres wide, with a median strip and 3-metre shoulders built to international standards.

A new oil extraction plant in Dashoguz will process 600 tonnes of technical cottonseed daily and 60,000 tonnes a year, producing about 9 million one-litre bottles of vegetable oil and creating around 250 jobs. A chemical complex will produce 350,000 tonnes of urea and 350,000 tonnes of ammonium nitrate a year, consuming 630 million cubic metres of natural gas. The 546-kilometre high-speed Ashgabat–Dashoguz highway is designed for growing trade and passenger traffic.
