Uzbek President backs wider practical partnership with Laos

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met Laos President Thongloun Sisoulith in Baku on October 15. The talks focused on taking relations between Uzbekistan and Laos to a new level, and Mirziyoyev spoke in favour of expanding practical partnership with Laos.

The sides named expanding mutual trade, developing business contacts and promoting joint projects in transport, logistics, pharmaceuticals, medicine, tourism and other sectors as priorities. They also stressed the importance of broadening the legal framework for trade and economic cooperation and stepping up educational and cultural exchanges.

The leaders also exchanged views on current issues on the regional and international agenda.
