Turkmenistan Proposes International Code on Peaceful Use of AI

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposed developing an International Code on the Peaceful Use of Artificial Intelligence in International Relations and Diplomacy at the VII Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Baku on October 15.

The head of state noted the growing role of the digital dimension in international cooperation. He said artificial intelligence and innovative technologies open promising opportunities for economic growth, more efficient public administration and the modernisation of diplomatic tools.

Berdimuhamedov also stressed the need to observe legal and ethical norms when introducing advanced developments. He said their use requires a responsible approach based on international law, trust and consideration of the interests of all states, and that Turkmenistan is initiating the development of the code.
