5th Meeting of the DARYA High-Level Group Begins in Ashgabat

The 5th Meeting of the High-Level Group of the DARYA Regional Programme opened in Ashgabat on 13 October 2026. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the meeting focuses on skills development in the context of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor.

On the first day, participants discussed training qualified personnel for the transport and logistics sector, developing vocational education and strengthening regional cooperation in Central Asia. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan M. Bäşimowa highlighted the importance of developing transport connectivity for expanding international and regional cooperation. She noted that effective transport corridors require not only modern infrastructure but also qualified specialists with the necessary professional competencies.

Participants stressed that human capital development, improved vocational education systems and workforce training in line with current labour market requirements are essential for the efficiency and competitiveness of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor. Particular attention was paid to exchanging experience between Central Asian countries and the European Union, and to strengthening cooperation among government authorities, educational institutions and the private sector.
