President Mirziyoyev discusses joint projects with SOCAR and British Petroleum

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Rovshan Najaf, head of Azerbaijan's SOCAR, and Giovanni Cristofolini, senior vice president of British Petroleum (BP). The two executives had come to Uzbekistan to take part in a meeting of the investors' council in the fuel and energy sector.

During the talks, the sides noted with satisfaction that successful cooperation had been established with these leading energy companies. They also discussed the next practical steps for developing hydrocarbon fields on the Ustyurt plateau. BP's joining of this major project was highly appreciated.

The parties stressed the importance of promoting new oil and gas projects, ensuring long-term supply and sale of oil and petroleum products, and establishing a distribution network.
