Central Bank of Azerbaijan keeps discount rate at 6.5%

The Management Board of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (AMB) has decided to keep its discount rate at 6.5%, according to a report by Report.az citing the central bank. The lower bound of the interest rate corridor stays at 5%, and the upper bound at 7.5%.

The decision took into account the dynamics of general and core inflation indicators, inflation expectations and the balance of risks. The bank also assessed developments in the currency market, changes in the liquidity position of the banking sector and recent trends in global monetary conditions.

Information on the next decision regarding the parameters of the interest rate corridor will be made public on December 23.
