Serdar Berdimuhamedov addresses international construction and industry exhibition in Ashgabat

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan addressed participants at the opening of the international exhibition and forum "Development of Construction, Industry, Chemistry and Energy Sectors of Turkmenistan" in Ashgabat. He said the event is important for increasing the country's industrial capacity, diversifying the national economy and creating new production facilities.

Berdimuhamedov said that in recent years new buildings had been commissioned for the Seydinazar Seydi Turkmen State Teachers' Institute in Turkmenabat and the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction in Ashgabat. In Ashgabat, the International Oncology Scientific and Clinical Center, the International Pediatrics Center and a Stomatology Center were opened. In Yolöten district of Mary region, the foundation was laid for a new town of 4,500 houses, and work on the second phase of Arkadag city is proceeding at a high pace.

He also noted that the second phases of the Lebap and Bäherden cement plants had been put into operation and that new enterprises had started work within the state concern Turkmenhimiya. Electricity, road and bridge projects were also mentioned. The president expressed confidence that the exhibition and forum would help Turkmen specialists and foreign company representatives exchange experience and build mutually beneficial cooperation.
