Kazakhstan Launches Official Calculator to Assess Social Wellbeing Category

Kazakhstan has launched an official online calculator that lets residents find out which social wellbeing category their family belongs to and whether it is entitled to state benefits and payments, according to a Tengrinews.kz correspondent. For now, users can calculate their category and verify reliable information through the eGov mobile app.

The country is changing how benefits are assigned. Recipients will be grouped into one of five categories, A, B, C, D or E, depending on their level of wellbeing. The category will determine the size of a payment or whether one is paid at all. The Ministry of Labour explained that the change is needed to make assistance more targeted.

The new approach will take effect in Kazakhstan on 1 January 2027.
