Major road projects to be completed in Astana this year

Astana Mayor Zhenis Kasymbek said on his Instagram page that around 50 road facilities are under way this year, with another 15 kilometres of road to be built by the end of the year, Egemen.kz reports. The projects are meant to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion on busy routes.

Work on Independence Street, between Kabanbai Batyr Avenue and Huseyn bin Talal Street, includes storm sewers, sewage lines, cable ducts, heating and communication networks and a sewage pumping station. Road surfacing is progressing quickly, and one side of the section is to carry traffic by the end of November.

At the intersection of N. Tilendiyev Avenue and Sh. Beisekova Street, 90% of utility work is complete and the bridge's metal structure has been assembled. The mayor instructed contractors to meet deadlines and maintain proper quality.
