International “Mother Nature” Art Exhibition Opens in Ashgabat

An international art exhibition titled “Mother Nature” (Ene tebigat) opened in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, with senior officials from three countries in attendance. Oguljahan Atabayeva, vice-president for medical work of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow Foundation for Support of Children in Need, welcomed Leyla Aliyeva of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Azerbaijan and Saida Mirziyoyeva, head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan.

The three held a trilateral meeting. Atabayeva said cooperation between neighbouring countries rests on shared roots and spiritual and cultural values. She noted that Turkmenistan holds national tree-planting drives twice a year, in autumn and spring, and has proposed a regional centre on climate-related technologies and a Central Asian centre to combat desertification.

Atabayeva said the exhibition could draw public attention, especially among young people, to ecological wellbeing. Aliyeva thanked Turkmenistan for its hospitality and well-organised events, and Mirziyoyeva also expressed gratitude for the warm reception.
