Bukhara and Fergana oil refineries to be modernised

Uzbekistan plans to modernise the oil refineries in Bukhara and Fergana, according to a report by UzA. The President stressed that gas should not only be used to generate electricity but also deeply processed to create greater added value.

The head of state noted that the synthetic liquid fuel complex in Kashkadarya currently produces up to 1.5 million tonnes of fuel and other products per year. In Bukhara region, the MTO project aimed at producing polyethylene, polypropylene and PET products will certainly be implemented, it was noted. Modernisation of the Bukhara and Fergana oil refineries is also envisaged.

The President said he is awaiting investor proposals for projects based on new technologies, meeting environmental requirements and economically justified.
