Turkmenistan to hold scientific-practical conference marking 33 years of the manat

Turkmenistan will hold a scientific-practical conference marking the 33rd anniversary of the introduction of the national currency, the manat. The conference is titled “The National Manat – the Foundation of Rapid Development in the New Historical Era.” Deputy Prime Minister Hojamyrat Geldimyradov reported on preparations for the event on Saturday at a Cabinet of Ministers meeting held in digital format, according to official media of Turkmenistan.

According to the report, the conference will familiarise participants with initiatives by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on socio-economic development and large-scale transformations in the banking sector. It will also discuss further strengthening cooperation with international financial institutions. In this context, the deputy prime minister submitted a related proposal to the head of state for consideration.

After hearing the report, the head of state instructed the deputy prime minister to properly prepare for the conference, which is dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the manat’s introduction into circulation.
